Quilting a Memory: Friendship and Commemorative Quilts
September 17 - November 19, 2011
Come celebrate the creative spirit of generations of area quilters with a memorable exhibition. Quilting a Memory: Friendship and Commemorative Quilts opens September 17 at the Rogers Historical Museum. Sponsorship for this special exhibition is being provided by The Rabbit’s Lair. A sneak preview of the exhibit will be available during the September Twilight Walk, from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, September 16. Opening day will be celebrated by demonstrations of hand-quilting techniques in the exhibit gallery and a reception and display of antique quilts at The Rabbit’s Lair. Accompanying the exhibit will be a hands-on activity for both children and adults. Using wallpaper scraps cut into various shapes, visitors working alone or as a group can create their own memories of this inspiring exhibit. Quilting a Memory will remain on view through November 19, 2011.
